DWI Education (DWI-E)
Our program provides state approved DWI classes certified by the State of Texas. This class is a requirement in Texas for any person convicted of a first offense DWI. This class can also be taken for pre-trial diversion, pre-trail intervention, bond supervision, attorney plea offers or failed U.A. required by probation or employers. This class will satisfy the requirement for education because of a suspended driver’s license. Upon completion of the course, the participant is presented with a Texas state issued numbered certificate.
The standardized program is 12 hours in length and taught in 4 three hour sessions. Specific course topics include:
- Alcohol/drugs and traffic safety problems.
- Texas laws relating to DWI.
- Effects of alcohol/drugs on humans.
- Alcohol/drugs and driving task abilities.
- Chemical dependency and symptoms of
- Sources of assistance and costs of DWI.
- Identification of alcohol/drug use and driving patterns and decision-making.
